We have completed and posted the third quarter schedule with many essential classes not inclusive. Gloria is very much tied up with field and contract training leaving Mohammed alone to teach all the scheduled classes. I have had to go in to assist in teaching some classes and because most of our classes are 21/2 to 5 days – 8 hours in duration, I am unable to perform any other duties in the week I am stuck in the classroom. I know Mr. McCoy has a lot in his plate right now and my need frequent reminder of our critical situation here in training. Thanks for your support I forgot to mention in the earlier justification letter that we had courses that were approved by TCEQ which Billy Shea was the only instructor approved to teach. Those courses are Surface Water production I II and Customer service inspection. Our inability to hire an instructor with TCEQ qualifications have that can teach those course after Billy left has left us with no choice but to use outside vendors for these course. The average cost to the City is an average of $20,000 a year. We also plan to expand our program to include Water and Wastewater Technology, Advance Utility Calculation, Advance Water and Wastewater Laboratory and more. These courses are presently being offered only by outside vendors and cost the City about another average of $20,000 a year. This upgrade will enable us to hire an   in-house instructor that will be readily available for our employees and the instruction will be customized to suite our needs as opposed to the generic version offered by the vendors. With the vacancy created for a Trainer position at OSB training group, due to the resignation of Victor Burks, it is requested that the position be upgraded to a Senior Trainer for the reasons indicated below: Our training goal for this position is to employ a highly qualified training professional to undertake a variety of water/wastewater and collection systems training responsibilities. This individual will be responsible for curriculum developments, designing new courses, identifying areas requiring remedial training, request courses and program addition from TCEQ, submitting courses to TCEQ for approval in accordance with TCEQ RG-373 and teaching several certification and skill enhancement classes. The individual will also be very highly knowledgeable of TCEQ training requirements and possess the minimum qualifications and skills for instructors as required by TCEQ RG 373 publications. In addition to the requirements above, the individual must meet City of Houston minimum requirements for the position: a bachelor’s degree and 1 year classroom training experience. The pay grade level 17 that this position is currently publicized does not attract prospective candidates who have the qualifications and capable of meeting the goals and objectives stated above. In the past we have managed to hire candidates who partially meet these criteria with hope to boost their experience while on the job but that has not been very effective and tends to put at risk our training goals and objectives. Therefore, it was important that I told the story through pictures as well as dialogue, and not just through literature. In my version of Romeo and Juliet, I showed the power of not only words, but art as well. To adapt Shakespeares original masterpiece Romeo and Juliet to better suit my audience, I converted many ideas from the story into artwork. The artwork of a comic is what determines the quality of the book. I believe that in comic books, the wording used in the dialogue is not nearly as important as the artwork it goes along with. I used artwork to portray deeper or more extreme emotions rather than using quite elaborate words as Shakespeare had done in his version. By showing emotions along with scenery through illustrations, I can be sure that readers have an image of the story in their minds. Another adaptation I used to better suit the targeted audience was the changing of Old English words into more understandable Modern English words. Some passages in Romeo and Juliet are hard to understand by the young readers of today. Therefore, I modernized the wording and emphasized every scene through illustration, rather than confusing literature. I believe I have adapted the story of Romeo and Juliet effectively to suit my audience very well. My version of Romeo and Juliet follows the original version written by William Shakespeare despite the many differences in language and style of presentation. I altered the presentation of Romeo and Juliet to more effectively tell the story to readers of todays generations. Although the story is 400 years old, it is not and never will be an outdated story. The Euro is the name of the single currency of the European Community. Essentially the Euro is the ECU renamed, since ECU’s will be exchangeable one-for-one for new EUROS. The ECU is currently the basis for the European Monetary System. ECU stands for European Currency Unit, but is pronounced â€Å"EK-you†, after the name of an old French coin with an equivalent spelling. The ECU is defined in terms of pieces of European currencies, making it a composite currency in origination since its creation it has become a currency of denomination for eurobonds and bank certificates of deposits, among many other uses. But some of you will start wondering why do we need the Euro? Well, the answer is obvious. Europe’s economy is now built on a single market and the single market will work much better with a single currency. Just imagine a situation in USA, for example, with every state having its own currency! Total chaos.

Innocence Themes in literary works are recurring, unifying subjects or ideas, motifs that allow us to understand more deeply the characters and their world. In The Catcher in the Rye, the major themes reflect the values and motivations of the characters. Some of these themes are outlined in the following sections. As its title indicates, the dominating theme of The Catcher in the Rye is the protection of innocence, especially of children. For most of the book, Holden sees this as a primary virtue. It is very closely related to his struggle against growing up.Holden's enemy is the adult world and the cruelty and artificiality that it entails. The people he admires all represent or protect innocence. He thinks of Jane Gallagher, for example, not as a maturing young woman but as the girl with whom he used to play checkers. He goes out of his way to tell us that he and Jane had no sexual relationship. Quite sweetly, they usually just held hands. Holden comforted Jane when she was distres sed, and it bothers him that Jane may have been subjected to sexual advances from her drunken stepfather or from her date, Holden's roommate, Stradlater.Holden's secret goal is to be â€Å"the catcher in the rye. † In this metaphor, he envisions a field of rye standing by a dangerous cliff. Children play in the field with joy and abandon. If they should come too close to the edge of the cliff, however, Holden is there to catch them. His attitude seems to shift near the end of the novel when he realizes that Phoebe and other children must be allowed to â€Å"grab for the gold ring,† to choose their own risks and take them, even though their attempts may be dangerous.

These articles (taken from parenting magazine) are, in essence, guidelines to be used by the parents or caregiver to ensure proper development of their child up to the second year. The article also educates the reader that every child develops at their own pace, and there is no exact time table that one can easily look at to see how well their child is doing. Either way the two articles overly support deep mutual interaction between both the child and the caregiver. Stanley Greenspans The Amazing Power of Baby Love teaches that simple gestures and interactions help babies develop intelligence, language and character. It states that at 2 to 4 months (notice the allowance of time Greenspan gives) the child becomes more involved with the caregiver. Notice the correlation between the authors statement and Ainsworths Stages of Attachment (p463-465): Birth through 2 months- indiscriminate social responsiveness- at first, babies do not focus their attention exclusively on their mothers and will at times respond positively to anyone. 2 months through 7 months- discriminate social response- During the second phase, infants become more interested in the caregiver and the other familiar people and direct their social responses to them. From birth to approximately 2 months the infants is does not really who cares who handles them. Afterwards, from 2 through seven months the child develops into the next stage. Once the child is in the second stage of Ainsworths theory Greenspan insinuates that the child is intelligent enough to distinguish differences between people: your child seems to be more intensely involved with you. The child suffers from separation anxiety, or fear that the caregiver will leave and never return. This action can relate to Piagets thoughts of object permanence, because the child fears or believes that once an object is out of sight it is gone for good. By definition: Object Permanence- The knowledge that objects have a permanent existence that is independent of our perceptual contact with them. In Piagets theory object permanence is a major achievement of the sensorimotor period. Greenspan then begins to talk about the beginning of communication. He states that children really do have a comprehension of language before they say their first words. Gestures instead take place of verbal communication. At first gestures are purposeful for requests and referential communication, later for functioning as symbols to label objects, events and characteristics. When the caregiver responds to the child the following interaction supposedly helps boost the childs self esteem. More importantly, the child learns about others moods, and in turn learn the ability to react to them. By responding to a baby they learn that their actions have an observable impact on their environment. Two-way conversations also make the child more empathetic. Once they see that they have an impact on the caregiver they see that person as an individual, some one separate from themselves. In the end Greenspan emphasizes again that children develop at their own pace. On top of that, they have their own response to a stimulus. Just because the react a way that a caregiver was expecting does not necessarily mean that there is anything wrong. When interacting with a child one should study how the child reacts, and then do what the child seemed to enjoy to bring the most pleasure, that should not be too obvious. Mary has just caused even more drama by completely overturning the focus onto Proctor and by now transferring all the pressure onto him. Dramatic irony and tension come together to create what must be one of the most memorable scenes in the whole play, Elizabeths only lie. Religion is Elizabeths life, she believes wholeheartedly in the commandments and would not dream of breaking them for any reason. Because Proctor is aware of this, he knows he can relay on his wife to back him and prove to the court how evil Abigail is, but Proctor has confessed to the court out of anger that he has known her. The court now do not know whether they can trust John and what he has to say. In order to prove to them the real Abigail, John preaches how Elizabeth has never lied, and therefore they can get the truth from her. In her life, sir, she has never lied . Elizabeth is fetched from the jail unaware that her husband has confessed to his affair with the vain Abigail and the drama begins again with Danforth questioning Elizabeth. We, the audience and the others in the room, Proctor and Abigail, know of the confession bringing about the irony in the scene. Elizabeth is confused when she arrives, and is ordered not to look at anyone but Danforth, making her nerves and unsure of herself. She looks at her husband for a clue as what to say, but seems confused and unsteady why anyone would be asking her the nature of her dismissal of Abigail unless they had come into knowledge of the affair. When the Judge tells the other girls, Abigail says she notices it first and she points to the man then all of the others do the same. Abigails relationship with John Proctor is very strange. She loves the man, but she is still willing to destroy everything he loves, to have him as her own. She has no regard for other peoples feelings. At the start John seems to be on good terms with her, even though he is ending it all, but at the end he hates her, the audience begin to hate Abigail as well because they sympathize with John; she has ruined his life, his wifes, his childrens, and hundreds of peoples lives who live in the village. In the start she is just a teenage girl, or to be exact a young woman (although this is arguable), who wants to have a little harmless fun. By the end of it she has caused so much distress and disruption, I dont even think she could have imagined that happening. Throughout the play, even though people are being killed, she remains to tell lies, so she isnt thought badly of. I think this creates tension because up until the end you dont know if she is going to right her wrongs. So all in all I think Abigail is an interesting and unpredictable character, she is in the centre of everything.
